Unlocking Stomp Shake Cheerleading
Every day Americans gather to rally support for their favorite team. The traditional job of the cheerleader has been to start the rally and get the crowd excited. Because of that, the assumption is that cheerleading is not a sport and an unnecessary eyesore to the game. The movement to change that has been slow. But what happens when you add a little extra?
Stomp-shake cheerleading is predominantly performed in African American communities. Their traditions have been coupled with slurs and rejection from the traditional cheer community. This film aims to tell the true story of stomp-shake cheerleading. We want to answer the questions, misconceptions, and break the barriers.
